Outstanding Women who worked in computing in the past:
Ada Lovelace- Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (1815-1842), daughter of the English poet Lord Byron was the first female computer programmer. She was the assistant and patron of Charles Babbage; she wrote programs for his "Analytical Engine."

Grace Murray Hopper-A Navy Rear Admiral who invented the first "computer compiler" and COBOL-the business oriented computer language.
