  Camtasia Studio: Create Online Demonstration from Your Desktop (Pre/Production/Post)
  Faculty Audience:
  All disciplines, Film/Video
   
  Prerequisites:
  Ability to create and organize files and folders using Windows is essential. Previous experience with software that uses a timeline is helpful but not mandatory.
   
  Course Description:
  Camtasia Studio is a powerful screen capture program that allows you to create "movies" of your computer demonstrations, showing all your mouse clicks with your voice over explaining what you are doing. These can be delivered as streaming video or zipped for students to download to their own computer to watch once or multiple times. Examples of files you can create include: online PowerPoint lectures, software tutorials, and demonstrations showing students how to use web-based learning resources (e.g., Blackboard, WebCT, course web sites, campus library, etc.).
   
  Objectives:
 
  1. Develop a project plan that will achieve desired student learning outcomes.
  2. Learn and apply best practices for screen capture recordings.
  3. Script, narrate, edit, and add captions to a PowerPoint presentation using Camtasia Studio.
  4. Create and edit a screen capture video.
  5. Configure Camtasia Studio
  6. Add narration and other enhancements including titles, transitions, callouts, quizzes, music, and captions to a screen capture video.
  7. Explore the Picture in Picture feature using a web cam with Camtasia.
  8. Package the project for a variety of deliver options including the Web, CD, and/or iPods.
