Dr. Manjari Wijenaike holds a PhD in Cultural
Anthropology from Boston University and is a trained ethnographer with
over fifteen years of fieldwork and teaching experience. She has worked
at the NWCET since its launch in 1995, and coordinated research activities,
managed projects, and written grant proposals and white papers.
As part of the grants team, Dr. Wijenaike oversees all proposal and report
preparation efforts including research for new projects, data from ongoing
work conducted by the NWCET and documentation of activities and impacts.
She has conducted numerous workshops for educators, parents, and counselors
on increasing access for girls into the field of IT. She frequently makes
presentations at national and international conferences on enhancing career
pathways in IT from education through work for underrepresented populations.
Dr. Wijenaike managed the research and development phase for the NSF-funded
project, CyberCareers for the Net Generation project and served as Executive
Producer for the CyberCareers for the Net Generation Video.
She currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator on Strengthening Connections.
