Best Practices

NWCET works with other ATE centers and projects, with local and regional secondary and community college districts, and with local business and industry to develop, promote, and share examples of Best Practice in IT education.

Some examples include:

  • high school and community college faculty development workshops and training;
  • programs for development and dissemination of skill standards,
  • faculty training workshops in the development of skill standards based instructional programs;
  • joint industry - education development of common core IT skills necessary for employability;
  • innovation and leadership in the development of hybrid technical / transfer degrees;
  • programs for recruiting students to I T programs;
  • and working with local business on application of skill standards to employee recruitment, training, and development.
