Overview
NWCET exists to assist educators in preparing and educating the versatile knowledge workers of the future. We offer products and services to aid in the initial development and the updating of IT curriculum.
The NWCET Skill Standards for Information Technology provide the foundation for curriculum development, and a benchmark for ensuring that students attain IT competency. The Curriculum Development Kit provides a framework for development and maintenance of curriculum using a process model that lets you keep pace with the rapid changes in IT.
NWCET curriculum elements are building blocks for IT programs, and can be used "as-is" or as foundations for custom development.
NWCET online courseware, developed in partnership with Harcourt Brace College Publishers, allows educators access to academically rigorous, technically current IT instructional programs in an online format. These courses can be offered as online-only, used in conjunction with face-to-face and live video delivery, or as a supplement to conventional instructional modes.
NWCET offers implementation and design services for schools or districts wishing to adopt skill standards-based curriculum and performance-based assessment of students.
NWCET designs and delivers faculty development workshops in curriculum design and development using skill standards, in development and application of performance-based assessment, and in many areas of technical training for faculty.
