Registration and Events Coordinator, NWCET�s Educator-to-Educator Institute
 

SUMMARY

The Registration and Events Management Coordinator for NWCET�s Educator-to-Educator Institute (E2) manages the administrative functions of the E2E Institute including registration of E2E Institute workshop participants, and coordination of all logistics in the delivery of professional development courses for information technology courses for educators from throughout the nation. The Registration and Events Coordinator is responsible for all E2E customer service support functions. The Registration and Events Management Coordinator also provides administrative support to the E2E Director.

Project Director, Project Supervisor
 

The NorthWest Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET) is seeking a consultant for a part - time long term (two to three years initially) assignment managing and supervising Information Technology curriculum adaptation and implementation projects funded by NSF grants for the NWCET. The Project Director / Supervisor would work with recipients of NSF grants (normally community colleges or educational consortia typically consisting of several community colleges, state education departments, and industry groups) to ensure project milestones and reporting dates are met.

The position may require occasional domestic travel, although most coordination and follow up work will typically be done via e-mail or telephone. The project director / supervisor will be responsible for providing NWCET regular reports (in an existing format) and will be responsible for coordinating all parties to make sure all reporting, fiscal, and performance milestones and schedules are met. The position may require monitoring the performance of other adjunct staff such as consultants or teachers, to ensure schedules are met.

Desired knowledge, skills, and attributes for the Project Director / Supervisor:

* Excellent communication ability via e-mail and telephone
* Knowledge of use of software to track project milestones
* Ability to coordinate activities of diverse groups at a distance
* Knowledge of basic reporting skills (simple budgets, performance narratives. etc.)
* Knowledge of instructional processes in community colleges
* General knowledge of Information Technology careers and profession.
* Willingness to attend scheduled meeting in person or via telephone

Prior administrative experience in an educational setting is preferred.

It is anticipated this position will require approximately one - half day per week from June to September, 2000 and one to two days per week thereafter

Accounting Student Position
 

The NWCET has a position open for a 2nd year accounting student who is experienced with Excel. This is a great chance to gain real-world experience and build up your resume.

The position will start as a project-based position. First projects include:
· Evaluating and recommending a Business Planning & Accounting program that best meets NWCET business & accounting needs
· Transferring existing NWCET spreadsheets into the new Business Planning & Accounting program

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficient in Excel
· Strong understanding of accounting principles (Lines of Business, Profit and Loss Statements, Income Statements)
· Possess good listening and problem solving skills as well as the determination to follow through to obtain a satisfactory solution.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail
