Our mission is to build upon the foundation of the Information Technology (IT) Skill Standards in order to: design innovative IT educational programs, provide national thought-leadership to education, business and government and contribute to the development of a skilled US Information Technology (IT) workforce. TO fulfill this mission, the NWCET follows four primary goals:

Goal 1. Establish Model Partnerships linking business, education and government to advance Information Technology Education.

Goal 2. Design and promote pathways, products, and services that increase student diversity and improve opportunities in IT programs.

Goal 3. Create and update the Skill Standards, curriculum, courseware and professional development projects and services.

Goal 4. Provide national leadership by contributing to the development of public policy through the dissemination of "Best Practices" in IT education.
