(All modules are 50 minutes).

Modules Title/activities Prerequisites Students will be able to:
Module One Title: Introduction to the World of CyberCareers.

Activities: View and discuss CyberCareers video.

Ability to read and write English at a 7th grade level. Discuss what IT professionals love about their jobs. Describe briefly the job market. Articulate briefly education or qualities that succeed in the IT career world. Identify possible IT career interests.
Module Two Title: Becoming IT Savvy

Activities: Conduct web research (40 minutes)

Students should have completed Module One of CyberCareers and taken the IT Career Interest Inventory. Identify specific IT careers they might be interested in. Describe the job functions of these careers. Identify qualifications and education for getting these jobs.
Module Three Title: IT Internships

Activities: Hear from guest speaker about an internship program, conduct web research.

Demonstrate knowledge of IT job tasks, identify educational background and experience necessary to obtain advertised jobs. Define what an internship is, give examples of IT internships, discuss what employers look for in interns.
Module Four Title: IT Is Everywhere!

Activities: Hear from a guest speaker, conduct web research.

Students should have completed Module One of CyberCareers Discuss how computer and information technology is changing the landscape of traditional jobs.
Module Five Title: Develop a Job Finder's Help Package Students should have completed Modules One through Four of CyberCareers Tell another student about what kinds of IT jobs he/she can expect to get with entry level skills, where to get these skills, and what good sources of information to access.
Module Six Title: The CyberCareers Challenge! Students should have completed Modules One through Four of CyberCareers Review questions from Modules 1-4 in a competitive game show environment. Questions include descriptions of what IT professionals do, definitions of key IT terms, etc.
