NWCET administers several technology education
programs locally and nationally. Many of the programs are supported
by grant funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), US Department
of Labor, the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges,
Microsoft Corporation and other sponsors. |

Working Connections IT Faculty Development Institute |
|
|
|
Now in its 10th year, the Working Connections summer
institute brings faculty from Washington State community colleges
to NWCET facilities on the BC campus to participate at classes
in the latest IT and business technologies. Nearly one thousand faculty
and ninety thousand students have been impacted by this successful program. |

The Center for IT Excellence (CITE) is a statewide
resource for community and technical colleges, the K-20 educational
system and the IT industry. CITE plays a leadership role as an
information resource and solution provider regarding model educational
programs, best practices for IT education and training, up-to-date
research, instructor professional development, and business growth
across industry sectors in Washington State. |

CyberCareers |
|
|
|
CyberCareers is a suite of resources for students,
teachers and counselors to learn about the education and skill
requirements of IT careers. Descriptions of IT jobs, quizzes and
a virtual job finder provide valuable insight for anyone interest
in the future of IT. |

Endorsed by the presidents of Washington State Community
and Technical Colleges, the WCIT program embodies the collaborative
efforts of the state's thirty-four community and technical colleges
to address systemic academic reform by providing professional development
opportunities for current and potential IT and IT-related instructors. |
