What is an internship? |
An internship is a temporary position that a student has within a company. Through an
internship students gain experience, skills and learn more about what they want to do after
they graduate. In many cases internships provide the contacts a student needs to get a job after
graduation. |

How do you get an IT internship? |
You need to first gain some basic experience in IT. Take classes at your school. Play with

Who gets IT internships? |
Stafford Mays, Director of Internship Programs at Microsoft, looks for people who:
- Have good grades, but not necessarily the best grades.
- Show involvement in extracurricular activities like school clubs and sports.
- Have a passion for learning new things.
- Have good basic reading, writing, arithmetic and communication skills.
To find and apply for an internship, you should have a resume and
you should be prepared to talk to people about why you want
the internship. Talk to your school guidance counselor about
