  Camtasia, Snagit, & Jing: Create Rich Media Content
  Faculty Audience:
  All disciplines.
   
  Prerequisites:
  Ability to create and organize files and folders using Windows is essential. Previous experience with software that uses a timeline is helpful but not mandatory.
   
  Course Description:
  Teach and reach students with easy-to-create rich media content."One picture is worth a thousand words." Researchers agree and students thrive in highly visual learning environments. Camtasia, Snagit, and Jing are powerful screen capture programs that allow you to create movies and pictures of anything you can display on your computer screen. Use them to produce narrated PowerPoint presentations, software demonstrations and tutorials, online homework feedback, and annotated screen snapshots. Show and tell students how to use web-based resources, course web sites, your campus library, etc. Deliver your presentations on YouTube, on a blog or web site, or in your course management system. Each of the applications showcased in this track will help you convert text heavy content into visually rich content for your students.
   
  Objectives:
 
  1. 1.Learn and apply best practices for screen capture images and recordings to narrate, edit, and add captions to a PowerPoint presentation using Camtasia Studio.
  2. Create “on-the-fly” screen captures movies and snapshots with Jing Project.
  3. Create and enhance screen snapshots with Snagit.
  4. Produce images and recordings for a variety of delivery options including streaming videos, YouTube movies, video podcasts, and downloadable zipped packages.
