  There's An App(le) for That!
  Faculty Audience:
Programming, Web Programming, Software Development faculty.

  Prerequisites:
  knowledge of C programming languages.

  Course Description:
Covering programming applications for an iPhone, this track will enable participants to create a simple iPhone application. Its intended to introduce some of the technologies and give participants grounding in the fundamentals of the development process. The Objective-C language is a simple computer language designed to enable sophisticated object-oriented programming. Objective-C is defined as a small but powerful set of extensions to the standard ANSI C language. Its additions to C are mostly based on Smalltalk, one of the first object-oriented programming languages. Objective-C is designed to give C full object-oriented programming capabilities, and to do so in a simple and straightforward way. Note: We will be designing this track so an Apple IPhone is not required.

  Objectives:

  1. How you create and manage a project using Xcode.
  2. The fundamental design patterns and techniques that underlie all iPhone development.
  3. The basics of using Interface Builder.
  4. How to make your application respond to user input using standard user interface controls.
