WHAT WE LEARNED:
Conducting focus groups of students across the nation we learned the following:
- Students don't feel videos are particulary useful learning tools unless they are backed up with other teaching/learning activities.
- For a video to attract students, it would have to feel more spontaneous and "MTV" than most of the industrial videos produced.
- Teachers and counselors need supporting materials to help them guide students through an exploration of IT careers once students have seen the video.
