First, instructional designers developed the structure of the online course design for all of the online courses, using WebCT? For each specific course, a Course Author then creates the course content and interactive activities to be included in the course. All of the content and activities are based on the industry-approved NWCET Information Technology Skill Standards. Once the Course Author has submitted the content, a Curriculum Design Specialist reviews it. The course then goes through a Peer Review Cycle and Pilot Sites are selected to test the course. Online Course Package
Included with each online course are printed Student Learning Guides (SLGs) and an Instructor Resource Website. The SLGs include a WebCT tutorial, supplemental projects, and online search strategies and evaluation. The Instructor Resource Website consists of a forum to suggest course enhancements, topics for threaded discussion, chat sessions, information on creating a learning community, a test bank, and additional projects and web links.
