WHAT WE LEARNED: Involve participants at the planning stages of the various learning activities. Formal pre- and post-Institute activities signal these components of the training are important. Pre- and post-Institute activities increase communication and focus the learning experience around targeted material. Pre and post-Institute activities more actively encourage the integration of acquired skills and knowledge into the instructors' classroom and on their campus.
